The Homecoming Gala 2012 will be a celebration of impact, community, and legacy.

On Friday, August 3 at McArthur Place join us in celebration with the past 50 year of Pow Wow Days. Cocktails will start at 5:30, supper at 6:30pm, followed with an evening of entertainment at 7:30pm. Advance tickets only for this event at $10/person and a cash bar on site.

Take the short trek northeast of Lac La Biche August 10th - 12th and check out the little festival with a lot of Heart -- the 14th Annual Heart Lake First Nations Competition Pow Wow.  The grand entry will be at 7pm August 10th. Come watch as various levels of Pow Wow dancers compete for chances to win cash prizes while you enjoy the great music, entertainment and food. Take in the colourful display of costumes as dancers of all ages put on quite an impressive and moving show.  For more information, call the Heart Lake Administration office at 780-623-2130 and ask for Sandy Monias. Goalie Fee: $85 - $110 (depending on age)

This is the 16th year of the U of A Golden Bears hockey players will be hosting this camp offering their skills & knowledge to the next generation of hockey players.

This event showcases the true buildling of community, where individuals can compete in golf, baseball, floor curling, cribbage, arts & crafts, and many other activities. But more importantly they come to socialize and have an enjoyable time.

Take up the challenge, and become active and involved in your zone. Registration deadline is July 12th.

Cruisin' the Dub

An invitation for Classic Car Owners to bring your baby in to A&W Lac La Biche on Thursday, August 23, from 2:30pm - 7:00pm and be prepared to win prizes, bop to the beat of your favourite golden oldies songs and enjoy a Teen Combo while helping to raise awareness and money for Mulitpul Sclerosis.

This is a free community event and One Dollar from every Teen Burger sold on August 23 will go directly to support the MS Soceity of Canada.

Hylo/Venice Good Old Harvest Days
August 24th  to August 25th, 2012

Come enjoy some good old-fashioned fun in Hylo August 24& 25. The weekend features lawn-tractor races, a petting zoo, children's games, cow patty bingo, pig catching, a horticultural show,  good food and entertainment. For more information, call 780-623-2164.

Friday the horticultural show entries are between 4-7pm followed with a potluck, karaoke entertainment, and a talent show.
Saturday starts off at 9am with a pancake breakfast followed by a Parade at 11am with other fun filled family activities throughout the day, wrapping up with a Pig Catch at the end of the day where if you catch it, you keep it for $5 participation fee.

Hylo/Venice Good Old Harvest Days
August 24th  to August 25th, 2012

The Beaver Lake Pilgrimage is back again this year, slated for August 25 & 26 at the Sacred Heart Church on the Beaver Lake Reserve southeast of Lac La Biche. The festivities start on August 25 at 8:45 p.m. with the blessing of the fire and candlelight service. On August 26 the mass will begin at 10:30am and continue until 3:45pm with several blessings. Camping will be available on the site from August 24 onwards and concessions will be on site for the entire weekend.

The Beaver Lake Pilgrimage is back again this year, slated for August 25 & 26 at the Sacred Heart Church on the Beaver Lake Reserve southeast of Lac La Biche. The festivities start on August 25 at 8:45 p.m. with the blessing of the fire and candlelight service. On August 26 the mass will begin at 10:30am and continue until 3:45pm with several blessings.
