The Lac La Biche Region is situated in an ecological area described as central mixed wood boreal forest. It's characterized by level/rolling terrain, with an abundance of water bodies and large wetlands. The bedrock is deeply buried beneath glacial deposits. The vegetation consists primarily of aspen and popular trees with some white spruce, and in the lowlands, tamarack and black spruce.
