Welcome to the Lac La Biche Region

Your spring and summer oasis!

Situated just 225 kilometres northeast of Edmonton is a little piece of paradise. The Lac La Biche Region is the ideal spring/summer getaway destination, whether you're looking for adventure or just looking to enjoy a relaxing day in the sun. With more than 150 lakes in the area, you can spend the day fishing, hiking, canoeing, water skiing or catching some rays on one of our many sandy beaches. You can even check the skies for the more than 220 species of migratory birds that flock to the area in the summer or enjoy a quiet nature walk, lined with old-growth forest and in some spots, rare colourful orchids..

It's not all about the trails, lakes and sand, however. There are also a myriad of festivals and events to check out during the summer. From early June to late August, scarcely a weekend goes by without something fun on the calendar! The Lac La Biche Region also offers visitors the chance to explore some of Western Canada's oldest history, built on generations of multicultural influence.

As you can tell, Lac La Biche, Plamondon and the surrounding Lac La Biche County are steeped in interesting history, scenic beauty and rich cultural diversity.. So please, come and check us out! We're looking forward to welcoming you.

Also be sure to check out the Visitor Information Centre, located at McArthur Place along the lakeshore. It's open seven days a week during the summer months.
