One of the main attractions in the Lac La Biche Region is Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park. This island park, at 234 hectares, is the largest of nine islands located in Lac La Biche.

It's one of the best spots you will find of an old-growth, mixed-wood boreal forest. It's known as one of the best locations for viewing boreal forest birds in Alberta, as well as waterfowl and shoreline birds.

There are several excellent vantage points for viewing the 200 resident and migrant bird species and with mounted viewing scopes, it's a haven for birdwatchers. Explore the island by two well-marked walking trails or launch your boat into one of the largest lakes in the region. There are also three sandy beaches for you to enjoy sunbathing and swimming, and two fully-equipped playgrounds for the kids.

The park is open year round for day use and from May to early fall for overnight camping. It features 72 campsites and a group-camping site as well as several day-use facilities throughout the park.
